Getting the balance of trust right

. Posted in Latest News

In a perfect world we’d be eating just the right balance of fresh Australian Made produce and ‘super foods’ to get our bodies performing at their peak. The reality
is that it can be hard work – and complementary medicines like vitamins and supplements can boost brain-power, energy levels and overall performance so that we’re capable of achieving everything we set out to.

If you do decide to take complementary medicines (like 75 per cent of the Australian population1), you want to be sure you are getting value for money and that you and your family are using safe and high quality products.

That’s why it’s important to buy Australian Made products, made right here from clean, green, healthy ingredients that meet our high standards of safety and quality.

One of Australia’s great strengths is the stringent health and safety standards that our manufacturers, producers and processors must comply with to legally sell their products here. Australia has some of the strictest regulations in the world for complementary medicines.

The Australian Made, Australian Grown (AMAG) logo – the familiar gold kangaroo on a green background – can provide the added reassurance that the product you have purchased was substantially transformed here and that 50 per cent or more of the cost of production was carried out here too.

The AMAG logo is a legally enforceable certification trademark recognised by 94 per cent of Australian consumers. More importantly, 85 per cent trust the AMAG logo over other country-of -origin symbols such as flags, maps and pictures of animals because of the stringent criteria products must meet to use it.

While the decision to purchase Australian Made products is one related to your own health and wellbeing, it also has an impact on the health and wellbeing of Australia as a whole.

By purchasing complementary medicines made here in Australia you’re contributing to a sustainable Australian economy. Small adjustments to daily consumption habits can have a significant flow-on effect and make a big difference overall.

More than 1700 businesses are currently licensed by AMAG to use the logo on approximately 10,000 products.

Some of the complementary medicines that carry the AMAG logo include Nature’s Naturals and Ever Green Healthy Food.

Next time you’re topping up your supply or if you’re thinking of making the switch, look for the green and gold logo, or visit the AMAG website to find out which products are right for you at www.australianmade.com.au.

How can you tell if the product you are purchasing is Australian Made? Look for the green and gold logo

Did you know?

Just because a product uses the wording ‘Made in Australia’ doesn’t mean it’s entirely Australian.

  • A product labelled ‘Made in Australia from imported and local goods’ is made up of more imported ingredients than local ingredients
  • A product labelled ‘Made in Australia from local and imported goods’ is made up of more local ingredients than imported ingredients
  • A product labelled ‘Made in Australia’ accompanied by the green and gold logo is certified to have been substantially transformed in Australia, with
50 per cent or more of the production costs incurred here.
